What is the difference between executive search and head hunting?

The terms executive search services and head hunting are terms that are used interchangeably these days, however they have a minor difference. An executive search consultant is competent and experienced in recruiting highly qualified and skilled executives for chief senior positions like President, Director, Vice President etc.

On the other hand, a headhunter may be an independent consultant or can be one that works for an executive search firm. Head hunting is the technique of recognizing and engaging in conversation with suitable candidates for a position as specified by the employer.
